Financial Controller

Responsible for monthly and annual financial statements, forecasts, budgets and presentation of the same to the Board of Directors. In-charge of IT department as well and overseeing general accounting functions, including payables and receivables, account reconciliation, and cash flow management. Also given the responsibility of developing a very new and young team of graduates to achieve established objectives.

Key Achievements:
 Managed to get the financials for 5 months (Jul 08 to Nov 08) done from scratch (even posting the supplier / customer invoices into the system) in less than 3 ½ months with a new 6 member team including myself due to changes brought about in the finance team.
 Placed controls on cash flow management to avoid possible embezzlement.
 Provided training to accounting staffs after attending Attaché Power User conference from Australia.

Major grocery store, Suva, (Feb 2002 – Mar 2008)
Group Financial Controller & Company Secretary

Directed financial management functions including development of yearly financial statements, consolidation, financial forecasts, and budgets. Oversee general accounting functions, including AR/AP, account reconciliation, and cash flow management.
